Mooloolaba SUP Fest was initially set for June, then unfortunately delayed due to past restrictions.
But now that general circumstances have improved, the festival’s newly announced dates are not looking likely to change.
Mooloolaba SUP Fest 2021 will mark its first-ever event, taking advantage of the beautiful, surf-perfect waters of The Spit at Mooloolaba to deliver a standup paddleboarding festival unlike any Australia’s east coast has seen before.
Mooloolaba SUP Fest will host technical, downwind, flatwater and paddle master events over an unmissable three-day weekend, offering standup paddleboarders of all ages and abilities to showcase their skills and mingle with fellow SUP lovers.
Just some of the categories will include Men’s and Women’s Opens, Men’s and Women’s Over 40s, Over 50s and Over 60s, plus Boys and Girls Under 17.
The Mooloolaba Spit itself boasts open and protected flat water canals, calm ocean waters to the east, plus stunning surrounds signature of the Sunshine Coast, making it the perfect location for standup paddleboarding.
The inaugural Mooloolaba SUP Festival will be family-friendly and community-orientated, hosted by the not-for-profit Sunshine Coast SUP Club and managed by World Surfaris.
All in all, it’s gearing up to be one excitement-packed weekend on the Sunshine Coast for SUP athletes, SUP fans and anyone looking for the perfect excuse to spend a few days in glorious Mooloolaba Sunshine Coast.
