Anywhere Festival 2019
Anywhere Festival is a unique celebration of theatre and performance which takes place annually in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. Each year, the festival aims to take performance, and its traditional setting inside the theatre, outside and into the streets for all to enjoy, connecting audience and location like no other event in the world. Best of all, it’s completely free.
Established in 2011, Anywhere Festival – also known as Anywhere Theatre Festival – has since grown to become one of Queensland’s most popular annual events. Independent Australian and international performance artists, including actors and actresses, comedians and magicians, as well as dancers and musicians, gather together each year for Anywhere Festival, during which they perform for free in a mixture of scenic locations in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast.
2019’s Anywhere Festival will bring a brand new program for all ages and tastes over a duration of 18 days on the Sunshine Coast. This year marks its ninth consecutive event, and it’s all set to be another huge success.
A number of renowned theatre companies from all over the country will be in attendance at this year’s Anywhere Festival, including Magnetic North Theatre Company, Minola Theatre, The Adwah Haswah Theatre Company of Wonder and Magic, Fools Theatre Company, Bytes Theatre Company, InsideOutside Theatre Company and more – all bringing an exciting new show.
There will be performances from a variety of independent artists, such as Haley Condon, Amanda Cole and Kim Kirkman, Aaron Ducker, Gary Nostrils, Ben Burns, Alex Harper and more, as well as brand new productions from the likes of Lightning Bolt Creative, Mira Ball Productions, Red Robin Entertainment, Shiny Tin Productions and Moment of Inertia Productions.
Whether you’re into theatre, live music, circus, spoken word poetry or dance, there’s plenty to take in and see at Anywhere Festival. Each performance will unfold in a unique outdoor location on the Sunshine Coast, and it’s all free to enjoy.

Island Charity Swim 2019
Island Charity Swim is a thrilling ocean swim that doubles as a fundraiser for local special schools on the Sunshine Coast. Held each year, this event invites both casual and seasoned swimmers to swim an ocean distance of 11km, which takes participants from Mudjimba Beach to Mudjimba Island – also known as Old Woman Island – before finishing at Mooloolaba Beach.
The ocean swim can be completed at any pace, and offers its participants an exciting personal challenge with fantastic views of the Sunshine Coast’s Mudjimba Island. Island Charity Swim is also as rewarding as it is enjoyable, in which both participants and spectators can raise and donate funds to an important cause.

The Proclaimers
The Proclaimers are the twin duo behind the 1988 hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”, and they’ll be coming to the Sunshine Coast this May.
Performing at The Events Centre near Aegean Apartments, The Proclaimers are a must-see on their Australian tour this 2019, in which they’ll be coming all the way from Scotland to sing every well-known song from their 11 bestselling studio albums.
If you’re a fan of songs such as “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”, “Sunshine on Leith” and “I’m on My Way”, come along to celebrate more than 30 years of The Proclaimers with The Proclaimers themselves at The Events Centre in Caloundra on May 19.
The TEN Tenors
Australia’s The TEN Tenors – who have been regulars on the Las Vegas Strip since 2017 – return home this 2019 with a brand new tour titled Love Is in the Air.
Best-known for their covers of “Somebody to Love”, “Wish You Were Here”, “Hallelujah”, “Heroes” and more, The TEN Tenors have reached all corners of the world with their ten-piece tenor vocal harmonies. They’ve released 12 studio albums since 1995, and have performed over 2,000 concerts worldwide to fans as well as visitors on the Las Vegas Strip.
Armed with a brand new tour, The TEN Tenors will return to Australia stronger than ever, and it’s all set to their most successful tour yet as they celebrate 30 long years as a group.
